BenQ XL2411 Review | An Amazing 144Hz Budget Monitor

Tim Bias

The BenQ Zowie XL 2411P is simply ideal for FPS game due to many reasons, starting from its high refresh rate, and up to its exceptionally quick response rate, so if you’ve been looking for something similar, then let’s take a look why you should consider this one.

When it comes to the image quality, the BenQ ZOWIE XL2411P is based on a standard TN panel with 350-nit peak brightness, a 1,000:1 contrast ratio, and dithered 8-bit color depth for 16.7 million colors.

Additionally, it features the Full HD screen resolution with 1920×1080 pixels which makes reaching high frame rates easy on your GPU while still offering a solid pixel density on a 24-inch monitor. The only downside of the BenQ XL2411P is the one shared by all TN panels which are the narrow viewing angles and inferior color quality compared to other panel technologies.

However, thanks to the versatile ergonomics of the monitor, you’ll always be able to match the screen to your viewing position and enjoy the image without color, brightness, and contrast shifts.

So, as far as the image quality is concerned, you aren’t getting any improvements in comparison to any other 144Hz TN panel model at this price range. It’s only when we get to the performance that things start to heat up. BenQ is known for its high-quality motion blur reduction technology which efficiently eliminates motion blur.

In the OSD menu, you will find the ‘Blur Reduction’ option which once enabled strobes the backlight and thus reduces the perceived motion blur and ghosting.

However, keep in mind that when this feature is enabled, the screen’s maximum brightness will be reduced.

In comparison to the previous models, the BenQ ZOWIE XL2411 monitor offers the Color Vibrance feature which allows you to quickly change and tweak the colors to your liking with 20 different pre-set levels depending on the game you’re playing. Additionally, the Black eQualizer feature increases visibility in dark scenes providing you with an easier way to spot the enemies hiding in the shadows.

The monitor also features pre-calibrated picture presets including two FPS modes, one RTS mode, and three customizable Gamer profiles. Besides the standard display adjustments such as brightness, contrast, gamma, color temperature, etc, you will also find ‘Display Mode’ which can scale the image to different aspect ratio/screen size formats.

Finally, you can assign most of these features including Blur Reduction to the three hotkeys on the monitor. Design-wise, the XL 2411 P features an elegant, all-black plastic body that houses a matte screen surface and a non-reflective frame that is specifically designed to ensure that you will never be distracted by anything as you’re gaming.

Furthermore, the cabinet is supported by a sturdy base and a solid neck that will offer you swivel adjustments of 45 degrees both left and right, tilt adjustments from -5 to 20 degrees, pivot adjustments of 90 degrees and height adjustments of up to 130 millimeters, but of course, if you want to enjoy an even better viewing experience, then you can mount the monitor on a 100 by 100 millimeter VESA mount, so you shouldn’t worry about anything.

Before we move to the next section, I’d like to inform you that the connection ports consist of a DisplayPort, an HDMI port, DVI DL port, and a headphone and mic jack, so I think that you will be fine.

But now, let’s talk about the performance.

The XL 2411 P supports up to 16.7 million colors per subpixel which are fantastic, since the visuals you’ll see are going to be lifelike, but, what’s also great is the response time of 1 millisecond, the 1080p resolution and the refresh rate of 144 hertz, which is awesome for the price, since these specs make this unit be a real, E-Sports monitor.

Moreover, the manufacturer has implemented their ZeroFlicker technology as well, whose purpose is to drastically minimize the potential eye strains that you may face if you’ve been playing for a prolonged period of time, and since now you won’t, all you have to do is to relax and start playing from the moment you take it out of its box!

To conclude, the XL 2411 P is worthy of considering, so give it a try and assure yourself of its potential!
