The Top 5 Android Tablets in 2019:
5. Samsung Galaxy Tab S3
When it first launched, Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 was as expensive as the iPad Pro, and had hit-or-miss the same performances. However, it is hard to make big sales in this saturated market. Since it’s launch the retail price of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 has dropped around 40 percent. Now the tablet is a bargain, with its performance, gorgeous screen and stylish design.
The Galaxy Tab S3 is a combination of the best Samsung design features. The tablet is very thin, thinner than the iPhone 7. The back is flat and the sides are curved, making the tablet easy to hold and carry. The weight is in the middle with 429g, it is not light nor heavy. It comes in silver and all black color scheme, both looking exceptionally stylish with their 9.7-inch screen.
Some will say that the catchy glass back is a wrong move as it can become a fingerprint magnet, but who could say no to such a beautiful machine.
The screen on this tablet is simply amazing. Samsung has made an amazing job, surpassing the competition in this aspect. It has a 9.7-inch AMOLED display with 2048×1536 resolution. The AMOLED display as opposed to the IPS LCD used in other manufacturers, provides vibrant colors, amazingly deep blacks, and a livid display for your media experiences. It is HDR enabled when watching HDR content, however, it is a shame that there are not a lot of HDR material.
The amount of colors is breathtaking, the reds and yellows pop, presenting an immersive experience.
Performance wise the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 packs some great numbers, even by today’s standards. Qualcomm’s quad-core Snapdragon 820 CPU with 4Gb of RAM gives it the power boost. It has a 32GB of built-in memory but it can be expandable up to 256GB. There is also an LTE version available with a data plan. The battery is slightly larger than the older versions, but the results are not so bright. The battery life is now worse than its predecessor, however, it posts still pretty good numbers.
Pretty well-built tablet all around with tons of performance and the awesome screen, with the best value that you can find in the market.
4. Asus ZenPad 3S 10
Finding a tablet from a wide variety of manufacturers and models, for your preferences is easy if you know what you are looking for. But if you get confused as to what to buy, and you want something in the middle of the price range, then I would say that the Asus ZenPad 3S 10 is a safe choice for you. WIth good performance and beautiful screen, wrapped with an attractive design, the Asus ZenPad 3S 10 is a bargain.
With its aluminum body and glass front, despite being a little weighty, the ZenPad 3S 10 is one of the thinnest 9.7-inch tablets you can find. It comes in two color schemes, titanium gray with a black bezel, and glacier silver with a white bezel. The body features diamond-cut metallic edges that shine in direct light. The aluminum back is very simple with just the Asus logo and the back-camera. If you chose the black bezel version the front looks like a solid black panel when the screen is off. All-around a well-designed machine, one of the most attractively done so.
The Asus ZenPad 3S 10 has a 9.7-inch IPS panel with 2048×1536 resolution provides amazing colors, too unreal sometimes.
Greens and blues popped with vibrancy. The details are very clear and crisp. The display is very vivid in default mode so there is no need to activate the Vivid preset, as the Balance preset is more precise and accurate with colors. The IPS display can reproduce 113 percent of the sRGB color gamut, and can emit up to 426nits, one of the brightest in the market.
The ZenPad packs a MediaTek MT8176 Turbo CPU with both a dual-core 2.1GHz processor and a quad-core 1.7GHz processor, combined with 4GB of RAM to present you an amazing experience. Every task is smooth without stutters and lag. It is a very speedy and refined device performance wise. It excelled in the benchmark tests, always above average numbers, near the top.
Battery life is pretty good, but if battery endurance is primary for you, it is better to look elsewhere. With such a refined and well-thought device, that is just in the middle of the price range, you really can’t go wrong.
3. Lenovo Yoga Tab 3
The Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 Pro is the most versatile tablet you can find, and probably the best tablet for entertainment. Lenovo has pulled some tricks to fit some unique features such as the cylindrical stand and the built-in projector. It is an innovative and interesting design, it also has the specs to back that magic up. However, it has a premium price tag that can bother the most.
The Yoga Tab 3 Pro has a similar design to its predecessor. With a cylindrical base that lodges the tablet’s flip-out metal stand, DLP projector and speakers. The design is a little strange, you will either fall in love with it or hate it. But either way it looks at the tablet concept from another angle. The innovative stand is a very clever design. It pops out at the press of a button from the rear. You can set the tablet in different angles, even hang it on a hook.
The tablet is a little on the heavy side with 665grams, as a result of its cylinder. This means that this is not the most portable of the tablets, it is better suited for home entertainment use. But the build quality is amazing on the Yoga Tab 3 Pro. The tablet has IP21 certification, it is splash proof, but beware it cannot be submerged in water.
The Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 Pro has a projector in the cylinder which is activated with the press of a button. Lenovo has claimed that the 50-lumen projector can beam images of up to 178cm across any wall or ceiling. And surprisingly, contrary to my prejudices it turned out to be a very convenient productivity feature. Although not very good for video streaming. The 10.1-inch display with 2560×1600 QHD resolution is amazing and is very sharp. Lenovo has added the AnyPen technology, so the screen detects any conductive object.
It is powered by an Intel X5 Atom CPU paired with 2GB of DDR3 RAM, giving it a decent performance. It is built around multimedia and some light gaming, so don’t expect heavy work from the Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 Pro. One of the best machines for entertainment purposes, with its fantastic screen and innovative features.
2. Huawei MediaPad M5
Huawei is on it’s way to becoming the tech giant that it aims to be. It is the second biggest smartphone provider, it is also in the top 4 in laptops and the third biggest tablet manufacturer. It is an unstoppable force, with its amazing tech and affordable prices. The MediaPad M5 gives some much-needed refresh into the premium tablet niche. It packs good performance and an attractive design, with a nice pen.
When you hear the Pro moniker, you may think that this tablet is a boring work tablet, that maybe you can stream your tv show on your commute. But that is not the case in the Huawei MediaPad M5, it looks pretty much like other 10-inch tablets with an aluminum back a thin design and glass front. The back aluminum is light gold colored and the whole device is 7mm at its thickest point. It has a different aspect ratio of 16:10 compared to its rivals that sport 4:3 aspect. This means that it is a little longer device, but it is comfortable to hold in hand. There are two Harman Kardon speakers above the screen and two below it. They sound remarkably good and full.
The MediaPad M5 Pro sports a 10.8-inch LCD screen feels a little smaller compared to the iPad Pro’s 10.5-inch screen, however if you use your tablet for drawing you will feel the real estate growing. It has a 2K resolution of 2560×1600 and provides 280 pixels per inch. Presenting amazing detail and a great amount of sharpness. Colors are very vivid and natural.
It packs a Kirin 970 CPU with eight cores, four of which are performance-led Cortex-A73s. In the benchmark tests, it destroyed the competition, coming short of just the iPad Pro. It runs the latest more demanding games pretty smoothly. It has a very good battery life provided by its huge 7500mAh battery, which can provide hours of entertainment.
A great tablet for drawing and doodling for fun or some light professional work. With its powerful speakers and great screen it is a good multimedia tool. Also if you like a little gaming on your leisure time the MediaPad M5, is up for any task.
1. Samsung Galaxy Tab S4
The winner of our best android tablets list is the Galaxy Tab S4 by Samsung. The newest version of Samsungs flagship tablet series, the Galaxy Tab S4 tries to give you a computer-like device, while still being an Android tablet. It wants to achieve that task with the Samsung DeX. Trying to recreate a more desktop-style experience. Amazing tablet all-around.
Designed with pretty simplistic and minimalistic lines it gives you the impression of industrial design. It is 7.1mm thick and has a weight of 482 grams, making it really portable and lightweight. It is glass covered in the back, and it is kind of a fingerprint magnet, which can bother some. But it is comfortable to hold it.
Samsung has eliminated the physical home button, resulting in the increased screen size of 10.5-inch. With the elimination of the home button, the fingerprint scanner is also gone, but rest assured because the iris scanner works just as well, assuming you are in front of the tablet and at a good angle. It has the best display that money can buy on any tablet. Samsungs OLED technology is better than its competition.
The image provides vibrant colors and extraordinarily deep blacks. It also has the HDR feature for video streaming apps, and the resolution is 2560×1600. It provides an excellent display experience, with enhanced colors that really pop, bright enough screen, and pretty wide viewing angles.
Galaxy Tab S4 comes packed with Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 CPU with 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage. During use it has proved that is a worthy device, even while pushing the limits, resulting in no-crashes. It works well with Samsung DeX, which is still kind of an experimental feature but should work better and better with each update. Both cameras are pretty good actually. The back camera is 13MP and can record 4K at 30 fps, and surprisingly the front camera supports 1080p HD. It comes with a massive 7300mAh battery, which has a life of around 15 hours of continuous video streaming.
With its high performance, amazing OLED screen, that only Samsung knows how to produce, it is not a question you should spend time answering it. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 is the best android tablet. Going strong in 2019 as well.
