Which Is The Best Android TV Box?
5. Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K
In my opinion, Amazon should have released the Fire TV Stick 4K years ago, this small dongle offers 4K HDR streaming at a very affordable price and it even outperforms its big brother the Fire TV Cube. It has a nice convenient remote control in the package that is upgraded and you also get the Alexa voice commands as in every Amazon smart home product. However, this device is tailored for Amazon Prime users, so it will require you to have a Prime subscription, but I would recommend you get one because the benefits are endless. Let’s take a closer look at this TV box.
Build and design-wise, as its name implies the Fire TV Stick 4K, has a stick shape. Well, not exactly the USB stick drives you to imagine because it is slightly larger at 10cm long, and even when compared to the traditional TV boxes it is compact. However, I found it dangling from the back of the TV so it is not invisible if you are looking for an incognito system you will have to improvise. In the box, you will find an HDMI extender to help you with connecting, and you will have to connect the stick to a power source because it needs its power, unlike other sticks.
The first time installation and setup was pretty easy and quick, once you connect the Fire TV Stick 4K to the TV and power source. After that, the Stick will prompt you to connect to the WiFi network and then it will automatically install any software updates and will connect you to your Prime account. I was very pleased that it connected with every Alexa device in the room automatically. Once you are done if you want you can explore some advanced options to tailor the viewing experience to your liking.
I was particularly impressed by the image of the Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K, as it was particularly bright and detailed due to its 4K quality. The HDR was excellent and worked to perfection, the colors were balanced and natural, and the sound was decent as well.
The Fire TV Stick 4K provides amazing value for its price, a must-have.
4. TaNix TX6 TV
Best Budget Option
Choosing a laptop backpack as a photographer is a daunting task as there are a lot of options but none of them provide compartments to comfortably store your photography gear, such as your DSLR, you mirrorless, lenses, tripod, glasses, laptop and to have it all in weatherproof fashion. Well, the Peak Design Everyday solves all of those problems with their latest design, an excellently built backpack, designed with photographers in mind to make their hobby or profession as comfortable as possible.
While it is not the most stylish backpack in our list the Peak Design Everyday is incredibly attractive, and I can see myself wearing this backpack all the time. It gives a nice first impression thanks to its minimalist design that is appealing to a lot of people, this bag will get you a lot of compliments. It is available in 4 colors, Black, Ash, Charcoal, and my personal favorite Tan, but all options look fantastic, also it comes in two sizes 20 and 30-liter size. Every detail about this backpack is well thought and it has nothing unnecessary, and it is one of the coolest backpacks on the market.
Despite being a beautiful and sleek bag, the Peak Design Everyday is rugged and ready for action. The shoulder straps are very thick and wide, and very comfortable to wear them, but you really can’t expect less on this price range. Even filled to the brim with heavy gear the Peak Design Everyday maintains the excellent level of comfort thanks to its straps, padding, fitting and weight distribution, not putting any kind of strain to your spine.
Thanks to its weatherproofing outer materials and zippers rest assured about the weather-proofing of the Peak Design Everyday. The feature that I was most impressed was its dual side access, so you can take the lens that is stored in the bottom without taking the whole bag apart.
This bag has a dedicated laptop sleeve for storing your laptop extremely safe against elements and occasional bumps. If you are into photography this is the single backpack you will need for your conquests.
3. SkyStream Two
The Most Convenient
SkyStream Two is one of the best Android TV boxes in the market and for a good reason. The SkyStream Two is the updated and upgraded version of the already excellent legacy SkyStream streaming device, it has doubled its performance numbers and it is an elite Android TV box. It provides a complete package with an easy to use system that is easily the most convenient of the bunch, fast installation, and amazing value for its price.
The SkyStream Two aims to be your and your families sole entertainment provider, by delivering the best quality audio and visuals, and I think that this device is excellent for watching movies, music, TV shows, sports and much more in 4K or Full HD 1080p. The image was amazingly sharp and it is an absolute joy, in addition to all this it is also capable of HDR to offer brighter colors, more natural shades, and vivid image with gorgeous shades and amazing quality, one of the best viewing experiences in the market.
For the fans of streaming services such as Netflix, Youtube, Hulu, Kodi, and many more, there are plenty of options you can choose from, as you have the entire Google Play ecosystem at your service plus the SkyStream Media Center, all without commercial breaks or any limitation. The SkyStream Two may have a high upfront cost, but after you pay that it does not require any kind of subscription, you get what you pay for complete with the updates and support.
In the package of the SkyStream Two, you will find the TV box itself, power cord, HDMI cable, and the remote control. Other than those you will find the quick start guide and a user manual, that explains everything to its last details, but even without those, you just plug in the device to the power source and the TV, connect to the WiFi and you are ready to go simple as that. The user interface of the SkyStream Two is extremely simple and foolproof, it doesn’t get better than this.
An impressive Android TV box that will prove its worth over the years, excellent design.
2. Beelink GT King
Simply explained the Beelink GT King runs like an Android smartphone or a tablet on a stock Android 9.0 Pie, rather than some Android TV adaptation. This provides a great platform for people that don’t prefer using popular streaming services such as Netflix, Hulu, or Amazon Prime, it can run them pretty well, but it will mostly watch from streaming services you are better off with another Android TV box.
The advantage of the Beelink GT King comes at its value per dollar because you don’t have to pay any subscription fee or any license requirements from the manufacturers, and you have the freedom to use it as a small computer thanks to its power and performance specs.
The Beelink GT King has the classic TV box design measuring 108x108x16mm in total and weighs just 190 grams. The side edges are smoothed out to give a nice aesthetical impression and it has a skull on top that its eyes shine green light when turned on. For connectivity you will locate two USB 3.0 ports, an HDMI 2.1 to 4K at 75 frames per second connector, a USB 2.0 port, microSD port, SPDIF, power connector, AV jack, and hole with the reset button inside. All in all, it is decently built all around and inside I found the chips and a cooling system made of an aluminum heatsink that was very smart to be implemented into this small device.
The remote control for the Beelink GT King was a fly mouse control with an integrated microphone, fairly simple but it got the job done, but if you want you can upgrade to another aftermarket remote. After installing the Google Assistant it worked excellently with voice controls and I was generally pleased with controls and performance.
The interface of the Beelink GT King is fully customizable exactly like an Android smartphone, so you can set it up to suit your needs and tailor the shortcuts to have your most-used apps upfront.
With amazing performance specs and high powered processor, the Beelink GT King is even capable of running games. The most powerful and customizable Android TV box on the market, for those that want to be limitless.
1. Nvidia Shield TV
The winner of our best android tv boxes list is of course, the Nvidia Shield. Spending money for an Android TV box is worthless for most of the people as they argue that most of the streaming service apps are already installed on most of the TVs. However, with the introduction of the Nvidia Shield TV things have changed, because this machine provides the best hardware, amazing video apps, 4K streaming, and access to Nvidia Geforce Now library for games, and with the latest update this box is even more refined and customizable, simply the best in the market without any competition.
Design-wise the new Nvidia Shield TV is the same as its predecessor, which is not a bad thing per se because it was already excellent. It has the same Nvidia Tegra X1 CPU and the same power configuration with the same ports that consist of two USB 3.0 ports, an Ethernet port, and an HDMI 2.0 port. The X1 chipset is the same system seen in various smaller systems like the Nintendo Switch, this is based on an older chipset architecture of Nvidia but can offer 4K resolution at 60 frames per second.
The Nvidia Shield TV ships with remote control and the games controller and both of them received updates throughout. The controller looks more like the Xbox One controller with slight touches and design tweaks to give it an Nvidia look. It is angular though, which might prove to be uncomfortable for some users, but I think it is really good actually, as it has haptic feedback which was excellently implemented and the addition of an IR transmitter.
The Nvidia Shield TV is capable of streaming from the popular streaming services such as Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime and many more, at 4K resolution at 60 fps, but what sets it apart is the selection of games that you can play.
It also connects with the Google Assistant, and even with Alexa if you have the Echo Dot smart speaker, and comprehends the commands exceptionally. The best Android TV box on the market that provides tremendous value to its price.
