Sony has been one of the most prominent brands in the headphone market for a long time now, and it doesn’t even have a handful of competitors, specializing in the high-end of the market. However, it has also manufactured excellent affordable headphones such as the Sony MDRZX110, which I have owned a pair in the past and can comfortably recommend to commuters.

Aesthetic wise the Sony MDRZX110 look pretty high-end with the combination of matte plastic on the majority of the chassis and glossy surface on the outer part of the earcups. It is available in both black and white, and they are foldable for easy storing. They are not the most thickly padded headphones I have seen but they are still pretty good, thanks to their lightweight, measuring at 4.2 ounces.

These headphones feature a pair of 30mm dynamic drivers with a frequency range from 12 to 22000Hz, an impedance of 24Ohms and 98 deciBels. The cable of this device is my favourite feature of these headphones with tangle-free and indestructible design.

The Sony MDRZX110 promotes a warmer sound, tailored for the masses with a prominent low range and balanced mids, however, I am pleased with the overall performance and I have no complaints. Fully deserves its spot in this best sony headphones list.

Sony aims to be the headphone brand for every purpose and we can see that in their lineup. For people that want good in-ear headphones for sports, be it jogging or weightlifting, the Sony WI-C310 is just perfect.

The Sony WI-C310 may not look like much but it is capable of so much, first, off they have a very durable and high-quality build. They are extremely lightweight and come in three different paint jobs black, blue and silver, and the magnets in the buds allow you to carry and store them without the fear of losing them when coupled with the behind the neck design.

Apart from being extremely comfortable, flexible and lightweight, these headphones sport pretty interesting features such as the voice assistant commands, which worked excellently. It has a battery life of about 15 hours when fully charged, and it charges quickly too, 60 minutes of playtime in just 10 minutes.

The Sony WI-C310 is equipped with a pair of 9mm dynamic drivers, provide a significant sound performance, with a focus on clarity. The bass was deep enough, the mids pretty balanced and warm, and the highs were pretty sharp and clean.

The best headphones for the purpose, an absolute bargain.

The Sony MDR1000X is one of the best headphones in the market for sure with their ANC and wireless performance that has no competition. These headphones have dominated the premium market, delivering everything that you can want from a headphone.

Design-wise, these headphones are excellent, they look minimal and clever, despite having no accessories or flashy details, these are one of the best looking headphones on the market. It is also worth mentioning its comfort and isolation which go hand to hand, thanks to the polyurethane foam in their thick padding and the synthetic leather, just amazing.

Without diving deeper into the controls, I want to say that these are very easy to use. The wireless performance is seamless and provides 20-hours of playback time with the ANC and volume turned up, however, you can use them in the wired mode as well.

The ANC performance, is one of the best I have ever seen, blocking low and mid-frequency sounds excellent. Even with the ANC turned on the Sony MDR1000X didn’t suffer in sound performance, on the contrary, it was perfect, delivering performance in every range, but that is expected in this price range.

One of the best wireless headphones in the market, not just in Sony’s lineup.

Sony has a few models in the lineup that have survived the test of time for nearly 30 years now, one of those models is the Sony MDR7506 introduced in the 1991 and the company hasn’t looked back. They have been the first choice of many broadcasting studios and professionals, thanks to their price and performance.

The Sony MDR7506 rock the same design since their introduction, and that alone should be enough to explain the durability and versatility of these headphones. Despite having a plastic build these feel pretty substantial weighing in at 8 ounces that is still pretty light, the padding is good and the clamping force is adequate, maximal comfort.

These headphones have 40mm drivers on each side with a rated impedance of 63Ohms, and it has a long durable cable with a 3.5mm jack on top, plus you get a 6.3mm adapter plug for professional gear.

The Sony WH-1000XM2 was the best headphone in the market, but the company didn’t stop there, as it improved and further refined its excellency to put out the absolute king of headphones the Sony WH-1000XM3. It is the definite best in multiple categories such as noise cancellation, comfort, design, sound, battery life, and overall astounding package.

Design-wise it shares a resemblance to its predecessor, with some minor touches that make them lighter and more comfortable. They feel nice and premium in hands and are one of the most ergonomic designs headphones in the market, you really will forget that you are wearing these.

They weigh a total of 9-ounces and have a pretty relaxed fit, but still providing amazing isolation and no leaking. The touch controls of the Sony WH-1000XM3 are perfect compared to the last model, working smoothly and responsively.
