Logitech G Pro Review | The Most Advanced Wireless Gaming Mouse

Bryan Nelson

Logitech is known for producing amazing gaming peripherals. It has a wide range of gaming gear, specifically designed and built for the purpose. Throughout the years they have never let the gamers down and have been supportive of the Esports since the inception of the sports.

Their lineup of gaming mouses has been top of the class and with the introduction of the Logitech G Pro Gaming Mouse, it has changed the game. Logitech has gone with the tried and tested formula and their amazing software. It is a fail-safe design with sleek features and exceptional performance that we have come to know from Logitech.

While not having a price point as high as Logitech’s G900 Chaos Spectrum, it provides similar pro tournament quality. Logitech has stated that this mouse can hold itself pretty well in competitive level with its sleek design and ergonomics with Logitech’s hallmark software. Overall, the Logitech G Pro Gaming Mouse will provide pleasure and will gain respect from champion gamers and casual players equally.

Design wise the G Pro has a very slim body. It weighs just 2.9 ounces and measures at 4.6 x 2.3 x 1.5-inches, it has a low body very slim and has relaxed ergonomics, allowing you to go with whichever grip you feel comfortable with. It is one of the lightest and smallest gaming mice on the market and is a godsend for people with small hands. People who prefer speedy and more responsive mice will be delighted as well.

The material used on the body of the mouse feels nice to hand and is sweat deterrent. Meaning that it won’t slip out when your palm gets sweaty or so on. It is designed to ensure comfort throughout your gaming sessions, giving you the edge in every moment.
It keeps thing pretty utilitarian with just 6 buttons. The left and right button, a clickable scroll wheel, a dots per inch selector and two thumb buttons right beneath that on the left side. The buttons are all very responsive, they all feel unreal. They give a weird feeling that pleases you with each click.

A disadvantage design wise you can count that it is almost symmetrical, and it still doesn’t offer a solution for the left-handed. It would be nice to provide just another set of buttons on the other side for the left-handed gamers.
The mouse runs on Logitech Gaming Software, like all the other Logitech gaming peripherals. Also, it is worth mentioning that it is the best program in the market. Via the program you can assign and customize button commands, change your DPI, fine tune your mouse according to the surface you are sliding it on, the possibility to have different profiles for different games and the customizable RGB light capability.

Additionally, you can select between set profiles on your PC and the single profile you have set within the mouse. This is perfect for gamers that want to go on tournaments with their own peripherals, without their PCs. The moment you set the onboard profile to your likings, every time you plug the mouse to a computer everything will be set to your preferences without the need for the Logitech Gaming Software to be installed. It may not be the first mouse to offer this feature, but certainly it is a convenient one.

When designing this mouse Logitech has tried to create a better experience for gamers. Putting focus in specs and features that Esports competitors want and need. However, I have tried this mouse while playing Apex Legends competitively and while playing the Witcher III, an RPG adventure game. The results were exceptional in both scenarios.

In Apex Legends, a competitive multiplayer first-person shooter I programmed out every button to my preferences and I felt amazing my kill rates were higher. The DPI settings were accurate and the mouse was very responsive. It also felt perfect to the hand instantly, a very weird feature. It feels like second nature.

And while playing The Witcher III: The Wild Hunt, an adventure RPG game that doesn’t really require a high-performing mouse, like the Logitech G Pro Gaming Mouse. But overall it was a nice experience, mapping some of my spells to the thumb buttons was pretty convenient, and aiming with the crossbow was a breeze and pleasant, as I was more accurate than ever.

To conclude this review, it is safe to say that this Logitech G Pro Gaming Mouse is pretty much perfect for everybody. It is amazing for gamers throughout genres, just maybe not MMORPGs. However, other than that it is pretty versatile and will blend in any environment. Be it an office, a studio or your gaming desk. It is one of the most complete gaming mice in the market.
