BenQ Zowie EC2-A vs. Logitech G502 Proteus Spectrum

If you’ve narrowed down your options to the BenQ’s Zowie EC2-A & the Logitech G502, then you’re pretty close to finding the right gaming mouse for you. Each of them has their pros and cons, so we will be taking a close look to each of them to be able to filter out the best option for you.

BenQ Zowie EC2-A

The EC2-A is BenQ’s first right-handed gaming mouse aimed at E-Sports, available in two sizes and two colors: Black & White. The EC2-A features a 3200DPI sensor, a sleek, ergonomic design suitable for claw or palm grip types, a glossy white coating and a 4-color scroll wheel.

This model has 2 versions: EC-1A and EC2-A. They are technically identical, the only difference between them is size with the EC2-A being the smaller one. I have tested both and i think that the EC2-A will be the correct one for most of you, unless you have really large hands.

The black version is not an eye-catching mouse. It has a simple design, matte black surface with a red logo and a led light for the scroll with 4 colors to indicate the different DPI settings. You will not like it if you want something with fancy led lights with thousands of colors to display, however if you want to become a professional FPS gamer you shouln’t care about these things.

The mouse is very well built. Despite of its light weight, it feels very durable and high quality, and even after using it for a long time, the surface will always look the same because the material used to design it is pretty high quality.

It is a LAN ready plug-and-play mouse. This means that you don’t need a fancy software to get everything up and running like Razer mice. It is basically set and forget, and this is extremely convenient when you play on LAN events. Most of the pros that play CS:GO prefer to use the Zowie EC2-A over all of the other mice on the market, and it is clearly visible why. There are 4 DPI settings for you to choose from, 400/800/1600/3200 and this is honestly all that you need for competitive gaming.

Designed by gamers, for gamers, Zowie really put their thoughts on the product. In my opinion, this is one of the best gaming mice today and you should definitely check it out.

Logitech G502 Proteus Spectrum

The Logitech G502 Proteus Spectrum is a true sensation, because it is being used even by Ninja, the best and the most famous player of Fortnite, so from the very beginning, you know that you can’t go wrong if you choose this mouse as your top pick.

From a design perspective, the G502 Proteus Spectrum has a compact, low-profile body finished in black with textured rubber grips on its both sides and a gentle thumb groove that holds 3 buttons. At the top, you will instantly notice the wheel, while slightly below there are two buttons which will give you an option to switch between gaming profiles that you have to previously created using the Logitech Gaming Software.

In addition, the wheel is very interesting, due to the fact that it is textured, and it can be clicked in three directions such as left, right, and middle, so as you can see this unit has a really interesting design.

Now, let’s talk about the features.

This model feels really comfortable as the users claim but this is nothing to be surprised of, because if we take into consideration its textured rubber grips, it means that you can have a greater control and can be more effective in the actual gameplay.

Moreover, the G502 Spectrum features an exclusive Logitech G Delta Zero optical sensor, that does a pretty good job in the process of minimizing the mouse acceleration, which by default means, that you can target your enemies better, and eliminate them within seconds.

But, let’s not forget that this unit has five DPI settings, which I particularly like due to the fact that you can switch between them anytime you want to change something with your gameplay.

Before we end, I’d suggest you use the Logitech Gaming Software that has a user-friendly interface with many interesting options, so you can program buttons, tailor the RGB lighting, adjust DPI sensitivity and many other things.

Overall, the G502 Proteus Spectrum is a more than a top option for you, since if Ninja uses it as its arsenal, then you simply can’t go wrong.

The Conclusion

I want to keep this as short as possible, because no one has time to read a ton of text, right? So, which one should you choose?

This heavily depends on what kind of games you want to play. If you are planning on playing first-person shooter games such as Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, then i would definitely go with the Zowie because it is simple and straight to the point when it comes to the design. This will let you focus on the game and never miss a button. It’s pretty durable, and we all know that how nerve-wrecking FPS games can be, that’s why we have to choose a durable mouse.

On the other hand, if you play games like DOTA 2, League of Legends or Fortnite, then the G502 would be the perfect option for you. Those games usually require key-binds to maximize your performance, and having a few extra buttons on the mouse will help you a lot with that.
